RACETRACK & DICE 26
STICKERS

The racetrack sticker graphics Leonard configured allowed proportionate sizes to the exact horse-to-lane to the precision lane size, allowing each to magnetize into their colour-coded rounds and designated lanes.  Moreover, Leonard strategically applied his calibration background in the exact measurements and allotted an amount of space for each of the horse and jockey magnetic game pieces to line up side-by-side at the starting gate with all other horse and jockey game pieces.

From the onset of designing Los Caballos, then Derbio International Mona began her research to use a durable material that is currently used today for both the racetrack and the (2) twelve sided dice.  That would sustain the magnetic horse and jockey game pieces, adhering to the covered surface without deterring from Leonards' overall objective for game pieces to fit to the metal racetrack surface throughout each race.  Just the same, for dice and the expectancy of having the capacity for multiple races, when being thrown on a textured surface and around the horse and jockey game pieces.  Finalizing, the exact textured product and brand took several attempts of both resolution and clarity and the manner in which the product was being used for and applied. Additionally, the vinyl sticker Mona decided to incorporate from the onset, was included as part of the intellectual design and submission to USPTO, and approved.

COMPREHENSIVE GAME RULES

Projected all gameplay rules; in such a manner that when gamers engage in each race seemed undetectable Derbio International game rules were Leonard's first to structure and intellectually conjure four races game play. All in relations to his education and background when applying his Metrology skills, throughout all four differing races as Leonard meticulously fore scene all four races exactly and how they would run.  With a preset goal in mind of how each of the four races would have varying degrees of objectives, allocated number of players, and what race would include both dice and or omit the move dice and the max number of players for each race. One of the most prolific contributing undetermined odds of winnings game factors to no fault, that of Leonards' ability to project the value of both (2) twelve-sided dice.

Specifying the exact number of horse and jockey game pieces that would advance, denoting must move and cannot pass the finish line, the number of chips to place in the race pool. When to ignore a dice in order to increase excitement and interrupt a gamer mindset into assuming they have an indication of who is going to win a race in any of the four races.

Summoning, one side for a gamer to decide what horse and jockey to advance in last place, creating more adverse chaos of the unknown winner in any race. Continually changing odds of winning throughout all four races and no two races having any similar end results. When using two twelve-sided dice increased the odds of surmountable different endings, ultimately increasing gamers frustrations and inability to project the role of the dice.

In any case, after becoming familiarized with each race game rules and the conditions permitted per assigned rules, per race and why some races omit the move dice and others are played with both the horse and move dice.  Allows gamers to decide what races they favor and or what races they assume will have better odds at winning, dependance on the number of players.
(Please read Derbio's International faq's for more information.) Leonard and Mona collaborated on the reconstructions of Los Caballos and was momentarily used for Derbio International booklet game rules, that evolved into the newest version of Derbio International poster size game rules. Meaning Derbio's booklet, was the first introduction of magenta plaid sector. Framed into boxed sections, ensuring gamers on how to differentiate all four races game rules.

BOXED SECTIONS

Mona's main objective was to incorporate her predetermined international theme and her previously designed plaid sector, using more brilliant and vivid colours, in relation to all other Derbio's game contents.  Providing a legible and easy-to-decipher through into framed boxed sections. Framed boxed sections, allows gamers to immediately perceive what rules are intended for each race, when the horse dice is used and what races are played with both the horse and move dice and focus on each game's agenda.

Whereas Leonard's main objective was to convey all his comprehensive game rules and circumstantial game-play dependence on each race.  This would include instructions for both the horse and move dice moves and what each of the (2) - Twelve-sided dice represents with several counteracting variables, with many inclusions.  Each race rules, taking in-depth strategies, while implementing rules for few and several gamers, determined less and more time; specified races dependance on the race, calculating the amount of race ticket(s) allowed per race. Whether or not race tickets should be shown throughout the duration of a race or not, deciding on how many winner(s) per race, determining the Pay-In per side represents and Winner(s) Pay-Out.

It is equally as important for all consumers, or those who entertain the idea of hosting a game day or gathering should they decide to include playing Derbio International, that is manufactured by Magnetarz-llc. Who does not represent live horse racing nor do any of the countries listed within Derbio International theme game content represent past, or present horse racing tracks or any racing tracks in similarity.  Nor does Magnetarz-llc have any subsidiary constituents that have any impact on any business doings or interactions.

This would conclude that all race ticket(s) bios, are all fictitious and do represent any horse or jockey during any time period of live horse racing.  This would conclude that all bios, stats, origin country and anything else listed within all of Magnetarz-llc game pieces, content or game rules, are not in anyway shape or form affiliated with live horse racing historical stats.  All race ticket bios should merely be perceived, as game piece in order to provide gamers to contemplate on a needed race ticket, in order to race around a magnetic board game. Moreso, should be recognized as fictional characters as in other board games.

Leonard derived all fictional characters, based on his travels abroad.

Please take into consideration, the amount of broad knowledge and experience Leonard had in order to conjure, all of the ten fictional bios, where and every horse and jockey race ticket offer interesting fictional stats. That would allow gamers to read through each horse and jockeys' race tickets and make a careful selection of their fictional bio and stats.

In conclusion, neither Leonard or Ramona were any near live horse racing, while they gathering and bringing together all game pieces for a Christmas gift and at the time a prototype.

BRANDING 32
DERBIO INTERNATIONAL

1 of 2

Mona then knew that branding the name Derbio International would have to appear as a solid focal point in the inner racetrack.  In order for Magnetarz's newest version name and logo to preside over many brilliant colour combinations.

It took several months for Mona to brainstorm an appropriate name that would
brand Magnetarz's newest theme of a magnetic horse racing game with an international theme.  The name would also have to be easy for consumers to pronounce and not distracted by a name they had never identified with and or viewed on a magnetic tabletop horse racing game.  Eventually, Mona assigned the name Derbio International.

Leonard then realized after experimenting with other possible names and a lot of unfitting discouraging possibilities, that simply did not correlate well.  Eventually began to appreciate the name Derbio and started to be a matter of fact when he was working through all of the multiple game graphics. Leonard and Mona searched for hours that led into weeks trying to locate an appropriate font that would brand Derbio well with all else.

DERBIO INTERNATIONAL

Searching through thousands of possible fonts, made both Leonard and Ramona wonder if they would find an appropriate the new decided upon Derbio International. Once the font was agreed upon, adjusting the exact shadowing proved to be another tedious graphic task.  That would not be known to anyone who did not view Leonard's relentless efforts to highlight fragments in order for Derbio to inlay well within the racetrack middle sector.

The name Derbio International would have to showcase well, when factoring in many other denominators, scale of busyness and the reasoning why darkened specific blue was selected that would set apart from other blues used within other game parameters and within all ten horse and jockey's multi-colour combinations that would not be tagged to any horse or jockey(s), or flags colour schemes. For gamers not to misinterpret having better odds of winning, had any other colour been selected relatively close to any of the horse and jockeys colour schemes.

None of the countries within Derbio International theme, represents any of the actual countries horse racing tracks, and took a reasonable amount of deliberation of many other possible countries considered. Leonard and Ramona, brought together the final ten that are included within the international theme, in order for gamers to contemplate and strategize for their pic(s) to select from and read through each horse's fictional bio race ticket(s).  Regardless of any recollective story telling of any conversation, all were brought together in order to offer a diverse and broad range of interest from fictitious abroad stats and so forth. When offering all ten fictional horse and jockey(s), concluding all ten countries, regions, cities and or origins were comprised to strictly offer fictional stats, achievements and standings for each race ticket. In hopes of providing gamers, to contemplate on their horse selection.

Most importantly, Leonard's commitment to the military duties required various travels and deployment abroad. Throughout his enlistment, that dates back to the eighties. Leonard's commitment and serving both active duty Air Force for several years, thereafter decided to enlist Air National Guard, for his remaining military career. Allowed him to effortlessly and wittily produce fictional characters for all of the ten horse bio's inscriptions. With a wide range of geographical knowledge abroad.

ANOTHER BLANK CANVAS

Furthermore, Leonard's military travels supplied his geographical knowledge enabled him to produce all fictional bio's inscriptions for the playing race tickets. Approaching each as another fundamental sector as with all other game contents.  Mona was equally, as involved with the multi-layer graphic project, as another blank canvas.  Who, immediately thought of utilizing the use of horse shoe backdrop,  previously used on a Magnetarz-llc website, by our at the time web designer, who provided the image through an email. Authorizing and permitting the use of horse shoe wallpaper derived a website, that allows use of free images, whereas some images have additional fees.

The particular horse shoe wallpaper and horse and jockey images were free of use. Introducing, Leonard and Mona, to an online source that opened many other possibilities, coincidently where they retrieved the horse and jockeys images shown on the race tickets, that were also offered free use of.  Both the horse shoe wallpaper and the horse and jockey images, were the only two add-ons, as oppose to all else that were designed and meticulously pieced together. Each providing interesting and eye-catching focal points.

Followed by hay, providing the ambience of a horse' stable, with an exact tonal value and purpose that would not overpower all of the busyness and the same time would correlate well, when applying all other pertinent fonts, and designs.  Each font took a substantial amount of time to locate and decide upon the final selection, in terms of suitability, legibility, logistical factors and most importantly the concept providing an international theme through select areas.  In particular the vertical font of the names of the horses. Mona specifically, and purposely knew the utmost importance of this particular font as another major focal point.  All other fonts would to just as well, own their dispositions and graphical content within their designated sectors.

Bio inscriptions were an obvious forefront important sector, selecting the exact font was imperative and had to read legible.  Leonard then dedicated himself to conjuring and writing each horses' fictional bio inscriptions. Offering interesting fictional stats and a reason for gamers to consider all horses based on their fictional records. Leonard dedicated himself to spending a considerable amount of time  to detailing each horse' numbered rounds exact size, in terms of shadow, brilliance of colour hue, and more than what is viewed at first glance.

Previously designed, the four-coloured horse and jockey that Mona designed, dedicated to producing a logo that was original and would represent a tabletop game vs live horse racing. Although it would have been a perfect scenario, to provide all ten horse and jockeys. For practicality reasons for a logo, and limited spacing allowance Leonard was only able to include four horse and jockeys. The cause for selecting all four outlined horse and jockeys to have different colours, than any of the 10 horse and jockeys within the Derbio International magnetic game.
That was purposely designed for the oval in the inner section of the racetrack.

Mona, foreseeing the four-outlined horse and jockey(s) logo would help market Derbio International in multiple fashions. Envisioning disassembling each of the four horse and jockeys', shown in each of the race ticket(s). Graphically, designated each individual horse and jockey in an absolute and purpose area, that would show another allotted element of design. All in recognition of the original horse and jockey logo design, representing all ten horses within Derbio International magnetic tabletop game.

Leonard then was meticulous about the placement of each country's flag, size, outline, and shadowing, in order to procure each flag for their particular country,  Ensuring all ten countries' flags were within the same parameters when graphically contouring each flag's shape proved to be an extended problematic task.  Spending countless hours, outlining each country's flag parameters, securing each graphically on each race ticket(s), with varying degrees of fragmented challenges.

Mona was very dedicated to locating what she decided would incorporate well provide a solid balance and stand apart from all other element essentials and designs. Decided on a selected blue cylinder border textile that was puzzled together and would counteract with all other colours. Ultimately decided on a shade of the exact shade of blue'  lightness and density,  that she felt would compliment all other radiance colours used, allowing the crispness of the cinderblocks to be viewed and unlike any other colours that represent all ten horse and jockeys colour schemes.  In order not to deflect from any of the prominent colour schemes and interrupt any gamers into having a notion at a better chance of winning, had one of the recognizable ten horse and jockeys  been selected for the border.

WIN, PLACE, SHOW border, then set the stage for all other inclusions, both just as determined to make the frontside just as interesting as the playing-side of the race tickets.

As previously stated, the horse shoe wallpaper was then implemented on the front-side of the race ticket(s), that had been previously used on a prior website. That was reconstructed to the precise shade of burnt orange-brown, that Mona decided would allow all other elements to be legible providing the backdrop for Derbio International's front side of the race tickets.  Adding, the dark blue oblong oval  containing Derbio International  the horse and jockey(s) trademark, as well as Magnetarz's rain or shine stamp, that Leonard graphically created and finally the year of copyright.

All requirements, were met in order for gamers to have a clear view of their selected number(s), country and horse and jockey, for each race.

AGAINST ALL ODDS 43
THE EXPENSE OF
A HORSE & JOCKEY MOLD

1 of 5

What seemed unattainable, in the early stages of development, due the many unknowns. As things progressed Leonard and Mona continued to visualize a comprehensive custom-made horse and jockey mold for their magnetic tabletop horse racing game.  A much needed inclusion, after the new revised graphics and international theme graphics were finalized, when all other materials were locally sourced.  After Mona was offered a legitimate mold source in the United States, that communicates with a legitimate mold company source in China.  It was nothing less than a blessing, that Leonard was able to afford the much-anticipated necessity of a horse and jockey mold.

Upon receiving sample miniature mock plastic animal from a mold company in the United States that orders mold casings directly from a mold company in China. At the time, Leonard and Mona had no clue we would be designing the mold ourselves. Without having any prior knowledge experience in obtaining a game piece, both assumed we would just offer sizes and colours. Needless to say, caused both to gather their thoughts and wonder how this task would be resolved and at the same token. Ramona knew Leonards; educational background would provide solidarity in all measurement provisions, to China.

THE EXPENSE OF
A HORSE & JOCKEY MOLD

Knowingly we had projected the funds to afford one mold casing  and the importance of matching all horse and jockeys colours, for the use of one mold.  The casing mold, that would need to meet our expectations of the practicality of being used for all ten horses and jockey game pieces and was provided all ten horse and jockeys identification colour numbers that were used and applied on all other game components.

To offer a more substantial analogy of what needed to be translated. The sample that was sent to Leonard and Ramona was a donkey with no jockey.  Essentially we had to turn a donkey into a horse and jockey.  The horse and jockey mold casing needed to be sculpted in such a manner as if they were actively in a horse race, Mona's primary goal was to relate and sculpt the utmost important horse and jockey features and characteristics, taking multiple back and forth emails through Pardozoo@msn.com to the United States mold company.

Without any reservations, Mona encouraged Leonard to produce all Figs, specifications and meet requirements to the overseas mold company in China, provided directly to the mold company in the United States, in laymen terms the translator to China.

Leonard' prepped all complex Figs, diagrams, exact proportionate size of jockey to seamlessly connect to the horse, including all of preciseness of the jockeys helmet, jacket, boot features and gripping onto the horse' rein.  All of the horse diagrams was then another segment of the intricate design, that had to be configured proportionately to the jockey while meeting all the specs of the lanes and allowance for the exact insert of the exact size of magnet, Leonard had configured. Mona was then very supportive on offering as much sculping advice, in relation to ensuring all proportionate sizing in all areas, carefully paid close attention to all minuscule characteristics.

Effortlessly, showcasing another form of Leonard's precision measurement skills, applied in all areas when submitting all indicators of measurements, to the mold company in the Unite States and all other pertinent descriptive informative diagrams. Followed by, substantial at length phone conversations to  mold company in the United States, prior to their submission to the mold company in China.  Yet,  there were still some easily detectable flawed areas and concerns upon receiving the first mock horse and jockey game piece. Both Leonard and Ramona were very familiar, of a language barrier having lived overseas.

Mona provided all concerns, flawed areas, and provided scaling to proportionate size, sculping the horse and jockeys' main characteristics that were not met or achieved through all of the intellect descriptive diagrams through the first email, to the mold company in the United States..  Monas' other main concern and objective was to indicate the exact corresponding colour code identifications that had already been established to all 10 horse and jockey game pieces.

Leonard then had to reconfigure, modify, and reconstruct the helmet, (needing to represent a jockeys' helmet,) the saddle (off-sized needed to appear for a jockey and better placement,) the goggles, (needed to geared towards jockeys googles,) the boots, (needed to be proportionately sized and reshaped,) the horses legs, (needed adjusting and need to be in accordance and have the appearance of a horse running in a race.)  Leonard proceeded to make all revised Figs, diagrams, and specified indicators, in relations to relieve any miscommunications.  All the back-and-forth communications with the mold company in the US, eventually resolved and we were able to finalize the design of the horse and jockey mold. A job that seemed as if would never be finalized as in many art forms.

In the end, the United States mold company reassured Leonard and Ramona they had did everything possible to meet all of the Figs, spec, and diagrams that were offered.  Where all efforts, met the exact proportionate size and space allotted for the magnet, a closely matched horse and jockey appeared to be running a race, and the colour schemes were as closely matched as possible. Enabled Leonard and Ramona to finally place an order the horse and jockey game pieces, from the mold casing we purchased in China, which seemed surreal to both Leonard and Mona.

In conclusion, Leonard was able to draft and provide all precision measurements in terms of projecting the final size of horse and jockey game piece  mold casing, that is used for all ten horse and jockey game pieces.

LEONARDS' BLUEPRINT 48
A MAGNET INSERT

Purposely allocated an area for the magnetic piece through the submission to the mold company in the United States, a blueprint Leonard had envisioned prior to gathering any supplies for the prototype, a must have inclusion, for assembling the horse and jockey game pieces.

"Leonards' minuscule measurements for the magnet insert effectively allowed Leonard to adhere with epoxy each magnet securely and faultlessly to each horse and jockey game piece!"
Assembling the magnets into all ten horse and jockey game pieces with different colour schemes. Followed by both Leonard and Mona, viewing the horse and jockeys fit exactly into their designated lanes, without any spaces between game pieces.

LEONARD 49
AUTHENTICALLY BUILT EACH GAME
1 of 2

Leonard, accurately pinpointed the most precision measurements from the first prototype construction and each game constructed thereafter. Although, there were a number of racetrack graphics, that went through a cycle of evolving graphics over the course of several years of development. The actual game design and horse and jockey game pieces remained the same, with Leonards' intellectual design.

Adhering a prepared and printed racetrack sticker, to Leonards' determined and preferred exact gauge of steel, building each frame exactly, adding rubber supports for the corners, and precisely adhering various embellishments to differentiate each jockeys jacket, securing magnets into all of the horse and jockey game pieces.

All of Leonard's blueprint and building block pre-calculations, allowed all game parts to align impeccably, ultimately all parts revolved around the racetrack are shown and proved through each meticulously construction and authentically built Derbio International game, to meet all of Leonard's specifications.  Mona sourced an engraver, for both Los Caballos and Derbios' games frames, including a stamp that Mona had originally designed for the race tickets.

All engravings, were intentional to somewhat appear as a blacksmith, symbolically stamping particular properties and were decided upon after Mona viewed Leonard meticulously build each game. Mona, encouraged Leonard, to personally engrave each game with serial number, in order for consumers to conceive and identify that each game was authentically built by Leonard.
