“LEONARD, RANDOMLY SAID HE WANTED TO CONSTRUCT A MAGNETIC HORSE RACING GAME FOR HIS PARENTS FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT, MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON IN 2007.  MONA’S FIRST THOUGHT IN MIND, WAS “WELL THIS OUGHT TO BE INTERESTING” IT WAS FROM THAT MOMENT THAT THINGS PROGRESSED RATHER QUICKLY, AND AS THE STORY GOES WAS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DEVELOPERS I, II, & III.  NEVERTHELESS, DUE TO THE UNEXPECTED AND UNFORESEEN CHALLENGES THAT WERE PRESENTED WHEN GATHERING OFF THE SHELF ITEMS IN 2007, THAT ACTUAL GIFT WAS PRESENTED TO HIS PARENTS IN JANUARY OF 2008 AND THE BEGINING STAGES OF SUBMISSIONS TO

THE PATENT OFFICE”

LEONARD'S SKILLED

PROFESSION AND LIFETIME

CAREER IN

THE SCIENCE OF MEASUREMENT

Leonard met all the necessary measurements to achieve the required precision when programming intricate, multi-layered graphic files for various prints and materials.  Relating multiple measurement factors throughout the entire development, to multiple sources to fulfill all the game's contents. His exceptional carpentry skills enabled him to construct the racetrack exact specifications, purposely engraving each game with identification numbers. For consumers to know he built and authenticated each game.

Most likely, Leonard’s precision measurement skills would not have been showcased or viewed by the public, if it weren’t for the development of both the prototype and evolved Derbio International magnetic tabletop horse racing game. Demonstrating and engineering effortlessly the most minuscule quantifications and calculations throughout.

THE FOUNDERS 2

MONA

COLOUR KNOWLEDGE

& GRAPHIC DESIGNS

Immediately identifying with digital a colour wheel; a familiar essential fundamental and requirement for all licensed cosmetologists, afforded Mona to apply this knowledge in all graphics. In addition to other various informative "Colour" classes attended, all supporting her interests in visual arts. Each contrasting colour selection, patterns, textures, and designs were determined for all to offer a clear message in the way they intentionally used graphical meaning and game content definition.  Correlating specified Pantone ID matches across multiple materials, through various printing shops, mold factory and embroidery outlet.

LEONARD'S 3

MILITARY CAREER

1 of 2

Leonard enlisted in the active-duty Air Force and completed a course in Calibration- Metrology (The Science of Precision Measurement). Just prior to moving his family overseas to Okinawa, Japan in 1989.)

Leonard began utilizing his training at the Metrology Lab at Kadena Air Force Base.  He then continued furthering his education in this narrowed field of precision measurement over the next several years.  Turning it into decades and eventually making it his lifetime career.  Simultaneously required by both his daytime employer, and throughout his military career active duty and while he remained enlisted in the Air Force Guard.

Ultimately, this led Leonard to procure and demonstrate all mathematical measurements throughout the development of both the prototype and Magnetarz's available product Derbio International magnetic tabletop horse racing game. Applying various tedious variations of his skilled precision measurement background.

LEONARD'S 4

MILITARY CAREER

Whereas one of the most crucial fundamentals and faultless microscopic measurements is clearly proven and visible in the horse and jockey magnetic game pieces.  Proportionately and faultlessly sized to the magnetic racetrack lanes.  Allowing the horses and jockeys to align at the starting gate and maneuver around the track staggered closely and fitted securely in their designated lanes.

OFF THE SHELF MATERIALS

1 of 3

In the early stages of development of the first constructed game, neither Leonard nor Mona owned a desktop or tablet computer at home, when priorities were on their children's education. The minimalistic graphics were then created on a home school computer; outside of their son’ education lessons for the day were finished. It was easily detected; the home school computer was not programmed to support the advanced graphic software technology, causing lag time and performance of the internal system.  All development efforts were worked on, after Leonard returned home from his daytime employer, as well as outside of his military obligations, solely by Leonard and Ramona input.

Leonard had a clear visual of the construction of a blueprint he had in mind from the onset of using off the shelf materials, improvising plastic miniature horses with no jockeys. Months in advance of the 2007 Christmas a game was eventually gifted in January of 2008.

This was the beginning stages of what turned into years of both Leonard and Mona continual involvement making innovative improvements for consecutive years.  That eventually led them to obtain both a two intellectual patents.

Mona immediately had envisioned the use of a sticker for the racetrack when the construction of their prototype was underway; convincing Leonard this would sustain the use of the magnetic horse and jockey game pieces Leonard had already in mind. Using a sticker track, open a window of opportunities for graphic designs, multiple prints as well as securing a racetrack durability and multi-race usage.

Leonard had a difficult barrier while applying Photoshop graphic tool applications in times and free trial sessions in the early stages of developing the first handcrafted game and Christmas gift.  That allows consumers to test their product before making a purchase.  For consumers to have some knowledge of the graphic application and functionality involved.  The timed sessions allowed Leonard to produce the first racetrack, rule book, and race ticket prints with minimalistic graphics.

All of which is nowhere near the in-depth and multi-layers of scrutinizing intense time involved for all graphics that were required for creating Derbio International on a much newer desktop, that supported all the technical graphics applications. That was afforded and purchased for Magnetarz-llc, for the sole purpose of designing a more marketable magnetic horse racing game, that is available

BRANDING 8

THEN MONA'S PRIMARY FOCUS

1 of 4

Mona then started to offer insights to Leonard about her concept to design an international theme (after Los Caballos games, were not financially supporting all expenses, read section 18) Mona then articulated to Leonard, her idea of how an international theme should be presented, through graphics, logos, and all that is viewed throughout Derbio International. Encouraging Leonard, he had more than enough geographical knowledge and would oversee writing fictional bios; Leonard’s military assignments outnumbered his and Monas military obligations and travels.  Prior to deciding what countries to include, a new name for an international theme, naming all ten magnetic horses, and before deciding on incorporating the magenta plaid that would ultimately set the stage for an international theme. All efforts were made to retail a marketable new magnetic horse racing game; that would appeal to consumers and gamers alike.

All Derbio International multi-layered colour scheme graphic designs, logos, and all other game inclusions took several years of constant brainstorming, reworking graphical resolution, when focusing on all game part particulars throughout the entire development.

BRANDING 9

THEN MONA'S PRIMARY FOCUS

2 of 4

Namely the far most concern from start to finish of the entire project, was arguably the noticeable in the inconsistent colour range, when relating the exact same Pantone colour identification codes to each print shop, embroidery, and mold company.

Leonard's predetermined game play rules blueprint from the onset before any games were constructed, were applied in Los Caballos and were then applied to Derbio International, without deterring from the original prototypes' formality and architectural design and horse and jockey game pieces. After Leonard had constructed the comprehensive framework for the Los Caballos Lane, size and racetrack parameters had proven to be problematic, and the decision was made to momentarily change the theme and consider all areas in need of improvements, when trying to recoup all expenditures. All relatable calculations were then carried out through Derbio International, number of spaces for each horse and jockey game piece placement round space(s), a crucial fundamental for many other game elements and most importantly the horse and jockey game piece size.

BRANDING 10

THEN MONA'S PRIMARY FOCUS

3 of 4

After Mona and Leonard worked around the clock on Derbios’ racetrack graphics, whereas Mona knew there had to be distinguished and assigned lanes for each horse and jockeys’ lanes that would represent each country. Relating to Leonard the importance of the inclusion of each 10 country's flags within each of the ten lanes. Causing Leonard to meticulously and relentlessly configure each flag in each lane, despite all the idiosyncrasies and challenges that programming each flag to fit precisely presented. Ultimately setting the stage for Mona deciding to further the international theme, by incorporating plaid. Integrating a purposeful brilliant plaid colour scheme a multi-layered graphic design that required several trial and errors of colour selection, determining how many colours to apply without appearing too overdone and the same time having enough inter-section building colours to brand an international theme horse racing game.

The colour plaid palette colour selection, was an ongoing debate of continuous attempts to achieve the final selected, to integrate multiple intersections, each not overpowering the others resolution and purpose and at the same time producing a plaid that would represent a horse racing game.

BRANDING 11

THEN MONA'S PRIMARY FOCUS

4 of 4

Simultaneously, intentionally selecting the exact textures for each colour tone, hues, within the plaid, when offering a deliberate colour plaid scheme that would not interfere with any of the flag country's colour schemes. Each spacing and number of building lines presented many more interruptions of calculating the appropriate amount, in consideration of eventually adding the layers of flags after all else was finished.  Whereas the new name and logo had already been implemented on the racetrack and were then applied on the rule book and race tickets. All branded with the same concept of designing an international-themed horse racing game, with all colour scheme(s) objectives, to relatively match, and why Mona decided not to include plaid on the race tickets.  Due to the much-needed crucial game play tactful logistics she designed in the race tickets. From the onset of designing the horse and jockey logos for inner sector of racetrack that would brand Derbio, Mona deliberating knew when designing the horse and jockey logo would be broken down into individual horse and jockeys in other game elements, telling Leonard where to implement the individual horse and jockeys’ on each of the race tickets. Solidifying copy writes for all ten horse and jockey race tickets, individual logos and trademark authenticity.

VISUAL AND SCOPE

OF POSSIBILITIES FOR A

MARKETABLE PRODUCT

1 of 3

Leonard and Mona were both involved incorporating horses from multiple countries, in consideration of providing fictional characters and a more marketable product. Daunted by the overwhelming interest when searching for horse racing abroad, both were very dedicated to cautiously determining their selection of countries for purposeful reasoning. (Read Sections 34, 35, and 36)

Both were very mindful and took many countries into consideration with so much interest shown abroad. With the concept of inter-grading an international theme and various countries from abroad. The final decisions took a lot of brainstorming; both Leonard and Ramona went through a process to determine their final 10 selected countries.

Nevertheless, with all considerations we were developing a magnetic horse racing game and had to focus on visualizing graphics as an entire package for an all-new marketable product and international theme. (Read Sections 32 & 33)

Supplied with continuous constructive criticism and feedback, offered more reasons to work through each problem that was presented. Whereas both were open to all concerns, game rules play that needed more definitive explanation(s), etc.

After, our new product (read sections 67, 68, 69 & 70) named Los Caballos had proven in lack retail sales after enough time had passed and had been showcased through our website at the time Loscaballos.com, and a Los Caballos was donated at a school auction (after Leonard & Ramona's' patent attorneys submitted all applications to the USPTO), and viewed by multiple families, faculty and staff at an elite private school.  (Read sections 18, 19 & 20) Followed by a few years later, donating a Derbio International game, after all graphic designs were finished and the horse and jockey mold was purchased.

Prioritizing on surmountable amount of in-depth building blocks and milestones to conquer, Leonard and Ramona knew purchasing a horse and mold would have to wait.

Finalizing the precise dimensions and measurements of the size of lanes was a crucial fundamental infrastructure that Leonard needed to meet, to procure the exact size of mold for the horse and jockey game pieces. Absolute essential building block revision Leonards’ precise measurement skills were applied in carry out all pragmatic and intellect projections were related for all gaming elements, without interrupting any of the original blueprint agenda or intellectual properties.  Introducing more races, and the usage of two twelve-sided dice.

LEONARD'S 15

PRECISION MEASUREMENT SKILLS APPLIED IN

ALL GAME CONTENTS WEIGHT

1 of 3

Leonard had decided almost immediately after some constructive criticism and feedback on Los Caballos' magnetic tabletop horse racing game(s) heaviness he had constructed, during the early stages of development. Ultimately, reevaluating the many contributing factors of the prototype led to his submission of heaviness and where to make necessary weight reductions and modifications.  For logistics and a sensible weight in terms of hauling to and from, ultimately removing a drawer that stored game pieces that were originally built into the first handcrafted games and reducing weight in other problematic areas.

Whereas originally some racetracks' prints had twelve lanes, then eleven, with the final decision of a 10-lane racetrack, prioritizing lessening the overall parameters that would relate to the reduction of the size and weight, (causing Leonard to construct several games and prototypes.) Using various size steel gauges to finalize his preferred weight, without impacting the overall strength of steel and the magnetic horse and jockey to adhere to the racetrack. (Whereas a video shown on a previous website provided the source of from who and where the steel gauge was locally sourced.

ALL GAME CONTENTS WEIGHT

2 of 3

During the early stages of development Leonard decided on the temporary use of miniature horses that did not include jockeys, sourcing the exact size of magnets for momentary game pieces for Los Caballos’ magnetic horse racing game.  Until we were at the stage and financially prepared to obtain an exact size horse and jockey game piece mold that would fit all of Leonard's predetermined original magnetic horse and jockey game piece(s) plan. (A game piece, Leonard had in mind and reported to Pardozoo-llc aka Magnetarz-llc patent attorney and submissions were already mailed to the USPTO, prior to games donated, sold, or the launch of any websites, procuring all the magnetic game piece(s), game play, and overall agenda of the original magnetic tabletop horse racing game(s), regardless of the name(s), theme(s), that may continue to enhance Los Caballos, and or evolve into other names or themes when trying to produce a marketable product.

PRECISION MEASUREMENT APPLIED IN

ALL GAME CONTENTS WEIGHT

3 of 3

Leonard dedicated himself to determining the precision weight and size of the horse and jockey game pieces should be, per his visual of securing faultless measurements of expected weight for gameplay and the exact size for each to fit within their designated lane. A horse and jockey mold, that be allocated for the use of all ten contenders, each and all ten would be differentiated by their colour schemes, and jockey's embellishments. (Read more in sections 43, 44, 45, 46, and 47)

All provisions and calculated weight reductions made a substantial number of improvements in terms of the entire overall weight. Providing a lighter weight magnetic tabletop horse racing game, without losing the integrity of Los Caballos, structed concept of magnet horse and jockey game pieces adhering to a magnetic racetrack. Reducing the shipping and handling costs and reasonable size racetrack for consumers.

LOS CABALLOS 18

SALES & DONATIONS

EARLY STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT

LEGALLY PROTECTING

1 of 3

When the development of the prototype was underway that eventually led to both Leonard and Ramona deciding upon the name of Los Caballos, that proved lack of sales when marketing a new product, new named horse racing game, with a Spanish name and when all other game rules, websites verbiage was written English, causing much confusion and conflicting marketing objectives and strategies. That caused the decision to change the name and theme, until the very expensive and involved legalities funds (all with Leonards’ income read section 71) were recouped, anticipating after consumers can identify Magnetarz magnetic horse racing game overall game objective(s), regardless of the name or theme. Until consumers show interest in a new product, and some knowledge about all the legal measures that were taken from the early and various stages of development.

Leonard and Ramona were advised by Rita Crompton, to start the process of legally protecting their magnetic horse racing game within the first year of development. Introducing both Leonard and Ramona to Kley Achterhof, who was their patent attorney throughout and immediately started drafting all legal formalities, whom they were in contact with on a regular basis from start to finish. Informing Kley Achterhof, about the reduction of weight areas, and removal of the drawer (that was not part of the submission) and other weighted concerns. Per Kley Achterhof assured, the weight issues DID NOT reflect any of the submissions to the USPTO, or any of Leonards’ racetrack’ Figs inclusions, or amount game piece rounds or game play objectives, horse and jockey game piece(s) design, and or framework of all relatable FIGS, specs, or any the reported legal verbiage original submission. Most importantly, within a few debatable challenges, Kley Acterhof was then able to include and report Ramonas’ objective on the use of a sticker racetrack within the allotted time frame, while finalizing and procuring all legalities and patent language to the USPTO.

Kley Acterhof, submitted numerous patent dialogue documentations for both the utility and design patent(s), supported with various Figs, Diagrams, specifications and other necessary proof of original design, that required an excessive amount of knowledge to prove to the USPTO all of the reasonings as to why both patents should be approved. That took place over several years. Additionally, specifically the allowance magnet inserts for the horse and jockey game piece(s), that was included in Leonards’ and Ramonas’ first conversation with Kley Acterhof.

What might have been viewed, as organized chaos to those who had knowledge about the patent submission and visited our website at the time of Loscaballosgame.com and viewed a donation of Los Caballos game to a private school. A contact email at the time of Pardozoo@msn.com. Viewing horses without jockeys, should know Kley Achterhof submission to the USPTO was already being processed, and all legalities were meticulously being written multiple times, over the course of several years. All of whom were encouraged to continually visit our website have knowledge when the horse and jockey(s) game would be available for replacing any game pieces without the jockeys. (Encouraging the person who won at auction, Los Caballos game should now contact Magnetarz-llc to replace inadequate game pieces)

Rita Crompton authorized all donations and sales while patent submissions were waiting for approval by the USPTO, who is aware and knowledgeable of all legalities and the chronological order when providing the public of new product, while pending patents approvals are underway.

Kley Achterhof, patent objective and experience, never flawed from any concerns that were presented throughout the duration or process of obtaining both the utility and design patents. Therefore, Kley Achterhof concerns, were more about protecting all the obvious involved intellectual utility and designs patents, and the intent of the overall gander of the game play rules, racetrack inclusions, horse and jockey game pieces design. Leonard took high regards and explained exponentially to Kley Achterhof about the overall game play rule's objective(s) further explaining, the importance of the usage of including a magnetic racetrack and magnetic horse and jockey game pieces that would fit securely within each lane that would differentiate from any other horse racing games on the market.

COLOUR SCHEMES 21

PRINTING

1 of 2

Mona immediately adapted to the window of opportunities in graphic design capabilities from the early stages of development, visualized the possibilities of in-depth graphic design. A licensed Cosmetologist, whereas the colour wheel being the foundation and fundamental in all salons. Applying colour theory to achieve building block layered colour schemes combinations, designing the vast majority of the intricacy details. Without respect to offer Leonards’ accreditation, original definitive magnetic racetrack and magnetic horse and jockey game pieces while providing all precision measurement graphic programming.

Leonard and Ramona were both very involved in all colour identification codes after all colour were specifically chosen for several reasons; contrast, vividness, counteracting, as well as offsetting each of the ten horse & jockey colour combinations. Not interrupt marketing the colours selected for the plaid, logos, and the darkened bluish-purple inlay within the inner oval within the racetrack that was purposely selected to pronounce Derbios’ name and font. Each print was then reviewed by both Leonard and Ramona, who determined if print met our expectations of consistency and resolution of exact colour match, tones, brilliancy, and colour values for all game pieces. Discovering that each shop printer ink, produced variations of colour tone value, when offering the exact same colour identification codes. The most problematic and challenging colours proved to be (4) green and (8) purple colours, after in-depth phone conversation with the United States translator to the mold company in China.

COLOUR SCHEMES 22

The tonal value for both (4) and (8) horse and jockey game pieces, continued to differentiate, causing both Leonard and Ramona to fuss over what seemed to be the most challenging colours to match exactly, when offering the precise Pantone and other colour identifications codes dependance on the material. All in consideration of various print tasks, errors, misprints and discoloration, that were eventually resolved. When trying to effectively have all prints at the lowest available price, while locally sourcing print services that provided the printing service(s) needed for each material.  Many prints were then printed at one print shop, with a few printing tasks outsourced at other print shops.

Leonard made his final decision on a 10-lane track, for logistic reasons after receiving constructive criticism during the early stages of development.  Immediately adapting to Photoshops' in-depth graphic design application, where his precision measurement skills were applied throughout all graphics.  Sorting through, complex, multi-layering, multi-tool applications, usage of programming multiple layers and continuously discovering other graphic tools capabilities. (With Monas’ continuous visuals of multi-layering graphics) Leonard, maneuvering multi-graphic tools effortlessly, integrating multiple layers and inlaying 3-D effects. Achieving all preciseness graphics throughout all of Derbio International game graphics

Mona continued to oversee all graphics throughout all Derbio International game graphics, through Leonards’ master minding manipulation of all Photoshops graphic programming. Informing Leonard of all the must haves' inclusions, dirt for the racetrack, in-depth features start and finish rectangles, naming Derbio International, designing logos, and many game play practicalities that would provide and ensure gamers, to focus on each race and not have to struggle on clarity of the racetrack or game pieces. Mona, decided to incorporate each of the ten flags to designate each horse and jockey a lane that they would easily identify for game play, in numerical order.
